Since my job-hunting attempts last year, I’ve amassed some material for my personal portfolio. From now on, I’m going to start preparing for my career after graduation. Although my interest is in pre-production, since juniors or freelancers can hardly go straight into core creative work such as storyboarding, I’m planning to build my application materials with the positions of animator and visual designer(character, color board, layout, etc.) as my main target.

First, I have been regularly updating my CV with my new projects and experiences. Additionally, I have prepared all the application materials in English and Chinese.

Electronic Portfolio
Sometimes different companies have their own preferences or are targeted at hiring the right person for their project. That’s when I modify my portfolio to fit their tastes and style.
Earlier this year, I tried to apply for a company that has a cute style and the need for animation product design. Accordingly, I included cute character drawings and graphic design works in my portfolio. They contacted me soon after receiving the portfolio. Unfortunately, they needed people to work full-time immediately and did not accept remote working. In the end I was not hired, but it was a valuable experience for me.
